The short version: We do not collect any personal information. Your content stays on your device, and the only data Osaurus can send is optional, anonymous diagnostics you can turn off.

Your content stays on your device

Osaurus does not collect, store, transmit, or share your personal content. All AI conversations, memory, history, agent configurations, prompts, files, and API keys are stored exclusively on your device. We have no access to any of it, and none of it is ever included in the anonymous diagnostics described below.

Anonymous diagnostics

Osaurus can send two kinds of anonymous diagnostics. Neither ever includes your conversations, prompts, files, model outputs, or API keys, and neither carries your name, account, IP address, or any identifier that ties the data back to you.

Usage analytics, off by default. If you opt in, Osaurus sends anonymous product analytics: coarse signals such as app version, operating system, and which features are used, so we can understand how the app is used and improve it. This is disabled unless you turn it on, in onboarding or under Settings → Privacy. We use Aptabase, a privacy-focused, open-source analytics service that sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses.

Crash reports, on by default. When the app crashes or freezes, Osaurus sends an anonymous report containing the technical details needed to find and fix the bug, with the device name and any user information stripped out before it leaves your machine. This is the one diagnostic that is on by default; you can turn it off any time, in onboarding or under Settings → Privacy. We use Sentry for crash reporting.

No cookies

This website does not use tracking cookies. No cookies are set for advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking purposes.

Third-party model providers

If you choose to connect Osaurus to a third-party model provider (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or others), your prompts and completions are sent to that provider per their terms and privacy policy. Osaurus does not proxy, log, or store those requests. All API keys are stored locally on your device only.

Open source

Osaurus is fully open source under the MIT license. You can read every line of code at github.com/osaurus-ai/osaurus and verify these claims yourself.
